Double acts have been part of popular entertainment since the earliest days of variety and vaudeville, but the perils of working in a professional on stage partnership are explored in this ninety minute documentary featuring some of show business’ biggest names. The partnerships of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Cannon and Ball, Mike and Bernie Winters, Sonny and Cher, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and others are all examined in detail, with testimony from producers, writers and academics on how these high profile professional relationships all floundered in full public view.

The programme features rarely-seen footage from over seven decades of entertainment, and includes stories never previously told about how the fall outs and break ups came to happen. The narrator is Tracy-Ann Oberman.
